A novel in verse about the historical figure of Clara Lemlich, a Russian Jewish immigrant who came to New York City's Lower East Side in the early 1900s. Getting a job at a garment factory, Clara is appalled at the working conditions, and begins working tirelessly to gain women's rights in the workplace.
