An array of children are shown in different, single colors at the early stages of their lives, each with their different skills, loves, and joys. As they grow up, though, these kids will find their lives don't have to revolve around a single color or thing--they can paint with multiple colors, use their dance skills to become computer programmers, change their love for the rhythm of sports into love for the rhythm of poetry. Young readers are encouraged that their lives are continually being written, and that they are not single notes but symphonies.
