Sixteen-year-old Troy Hayes, who has Tourette syndrome and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, is done dealing with daily humiliation, pain, and loneliness. He makes a list of nine things he wants to accomplish before the tenth anniversary of his diagnosis, and then he plans to complete the tenth thing--suicide. While working through the list, Troy becomes friends with Khory, who is dealing with her own pain. As Khory unwittingly helps him cross things off his list, she shows him life has much to offer.
