Longing for the world to recognize her comedic talent, Winnie Friedman bombs her stand-up set at her own bat mitzvah and now only tells jokes to herself and her dad, a former comedian and her role-model. Then the funniest guy in school overhears her mumble something hilarious and invites her to join the school's improv troupe and Winnie thinks he may even be flirting. However, all the good vibes and humor dry up when she finds out her dad has been diagnosed with ALS.
