Eighty-four-year-old Maurice Hannigan is at the bar of a grand hotel in a small Irish town, as he usually is, and is ready to share his story, speaking his monologue out to his son who is working in the United States. Maurice gives five toasts to the five most important people in his life, telling stories of joys and sorrows, secret tragedy, a love that never flourished, and discovering the truth about his own life along the way.
