Maeve, a girl who struggles with severe anxiety--to the point where she composes obituaries for herself and others in her head--goes to Vancouver to live with her sometimes-sober dad while her mom, the only person who understands her, has to go to Haiti for months for work. In Vancouver Maeve meets Salix, a girl who seems never to worry about anything, and the two begin a bumbling courtship together, which might bring even more catastrophe than Maeve could ever have foreseen.
