In 1936, Anna and her family are Jewish citizens living in Krakow, Poland. As conditions worsen for people of the Jewish faith around them, Anna begs her father to flee the country, but he struggles to leave behind his position as a clarinetist with the local orchestra. And an audition for a new orchestra in Palestine might be Anna and her family's ticket to a better and safer life.
