Still mourning the sudden death of his mother, Tom Grendel enjoys the quietness of the neighborhood where he and his father, a veteran of the Iraq War, live. Mostly surrounded by senior citizens, Tom is content to mow their yards and admire Willow, the girl who just moved in next door, from afar. When Willow's brother Rex starts throwing wild parties that disrupt the peace and trigger Tom's father's PTSD, Tom decides to put a stop to the madness and discovers a strength within himself he never knew he had.
