Ghouls look and live like ordinary humans, except for their insatiable craving for eating human flesh. Not all Ghouls are the same, though, and when ordinary college student Ken Kaneki becomes the first-ever human-Ghoul hybrid, Ken finds himself in the company of friendly Ghouls, who show him how to eat flesh humanely. The problem is, the authorities who hunt Ghouls do not recognize a difference between the good Ghouls and the ones who just like eating.
