Investigates the life of Amasa Delano, a New England seal hunter, who in 1805 found a Spanish slaving ship in distress. Climbing aboard the ship Delano and his crew found that the Spaniards had been mostly killed and that the Africans had concocted a ruse to make other ships think they were still enslaved. Enraged at the deception, Delano and his crew, even though they were anti-slavery republicans, took justice into their own hands against the slaves.
