Evergreen, a young squirrel who is afraid of many things, is tasked by her mother to bring an acorn filled with nutritious soup to her ailing grandmother on the other side of Buckthorn Forest. Evergreen has no choice but to face her fears, meeting animals who need her help, others who want to help her, and others who simply want a taste of her soup. In spite of her timid nature, Evergreen perseveres and learns important lessons about others and what she is capable of.
