Dian, who has been visiting the Dominican Republic for years with her doctor parents, is outraged when her fourteen-year-old Dominican friend, Aracely, announces that she is engaged to be married. Meanwhile, her friendship with a cute Haitian boy there inspires her to do something practical to help him and the other villagers.
