Provides a graphic novel adaptation of the novel-in-verse "Garvey's Choice," which follows a young boy named Garvey whose father wants him to be an athlete, but who prefers science fiction and books. To mask the pain he feels in disappointing his father, Garvey turns to food, which leads him to be overweight, teased, and lonely. Garvey finds an unlikely refuge in the school choir, where he excels and eventually finds a way to connect with his father.
