Tired of being meek, underweight, and without self-esteem, Matthew Polly drops out of Princeton and spends two years at the Shaolin Temple in China, learning the arts of Zen Buddhism and kungfu. As Matthew adjusts to the training regimen and gains the respect of the monks, he is initiated into the Shaolin Temple, making him the first American to be accepted as a Shaolin disciple.
