Presents a picture book featuring the true story of Dashrath Manjhi, a man born in a small village called Gehlaur separated from the wealthier town of Wazirganj in India. Seeing how hard it was for people in Gehlaur to get medicine, water, and education from Wazirganj, Dashrath decided to do something drastic--single-handedly, he took a hammer and a chisel and over two decades hacked a path through the mountain to unite the two villages.
