Twenty-five-year-old Ivy Rowan fell sick in the flu epidemic of 1918. When she finally recovers from her sickbed, Ivy finds the world in chaos and panic. Her curse is in full-effect--the ability to see "the uninvited ones," the ghosts of loved ones who appear to her and portend death. Her brother and father murder a German man out of anger for the death of her other brother during the Great War. Ivy starts a relationship with the murdered man's brother, Daniel, only to find the "uninvited guests" appearing even more frequently, portending more life shattering events.
