He has always been against any act of violence, but because he is Chicano, his classmates assume he knows about gangs. Aspiring to be an actor, he pretends to be in a gang to impress them. After being urged to start a gang of his own, Joey begins to question whether or not he is a gang leader or if he is still just acting.
